Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the many questions we get every day...
T

hese are some of the questions that we have received. Hopefully they will answer your question. I believe in good old fashioned human contact, feel free to call me or email me with anything. Alternatively feel free to pop in for a chat or a sweet. I have some nice sweets and sometimes good conversations are a welcome relief đŸ˜‰

Do you have a minimum charge?

Yes. However, the minimum charge is not an hourly rate. Its a fixed minimum charge. So on iPhones its £39, on MacBooks its £79, and on iPads its £39. I have a minimum charge to keep things honest and transparent. Customers always know the charges before any jobs are booked. Everything is also published. I don’t want to be one of those repair businesses that run on gimmicks and scams where they have no minimum charge to entice customers in, and then they create problems to charge customers more money. If you want a shop that has no minimum charge, they are a dime a dozen. You will find them everywhere.

Do you offer no fix no fee?

No. Absolutely not. I don’t do gimmicks. I know a lot of repair shops do no fix no fee. However, in my opinion, its just a gimmick and a scam. If you think about it properly, you’ll realise that almost everything is repairable, whether it makes financials sense is the important factor. With no fix no fee, companies can always charge customers, even if the quote is silly. I prefer to operate and do repair that make financial sense. Again, if you want no fix no fee, there are hundreds of repair shops that operate this way. So you can take your pick.

How do you charge?

I charge set rates or set prices for Residential Customers or the public, and I charge by the hour for businesses.

Are you open weekends?

Sometimes. Officially I am not open weekends. However, unofficially, I am there most weekends. I see many customers by appointment, which basically means they call to let me know when they would like to meet me, and I try and accommodate if I can. Its as simple as that.

Do you repair iPhones?

Yes, I repair most models of iPhones. I mainly repair iPhone 5 upwards. I no longer repair iPhone 4’s and 3’s as it doesn’t make financial sense.

Do you do home visits?

I am afraid I don’t do home visits. Safety and time issues mean all repairs are done at the shop. However, I do home collections and deliveries.
